Final Bout 2026
It was an absolute treat to be back at Final Bout commentating along side Palmer (GoodestCast/Animal Style) & Chase (Chasebays). Since its inception style has always been at the forefront of FinalBout with 50% of teams scores coming from their car styling alone (and this takes a whole day for the judges to do!) but in earlier days it wasn't necessarily the driving that was receiving the attention. Fast forward to current times and now teams well & truly need to bring their A game when it comes to not only the styling but the driving!
To me this is the drifting I love. Each niche within drifting belongs but to me the true essence is driving a well styled car to the absolute limit and that combo will always out rank anything else for me. As everyone knows motorsport is expensive & drifting is no different, some people would sacrifice seat time for a nicely styled car, others would focus on seat time over style. At the end of the day the "right" option depends on what you're trying to achieve. Given Driftings young nature a generalisation could be made that an extremely well styled car was not going to have a good driver behind the wheel. Whether it was because all the seat time money went to the car or because the car is too "nice" to drive hard (shit excuse haha). Whilst that generalisation used to be the case we're in this really exciting time now where you have drivers absolutely throwing down in some really nice looking cars! This phenomenon isn't exclusive to Final Bout and is a general trend around the western world but I do believe FinalBout and its drivers deserve a bit of credit for contributing to seeing that change unfold and "spreading the good word".
FB9 saw FrontStreet take the top step which was well & truly deserved. From the first lap in practice they were on "it" and it can only be described as Fucking Sick! The best bit was seeing how much it meant to the boys and everyone with the team! I suppose that was a long winded way to say the driving rocked and the cars looked awesome whilst doing it but the point I am hoping that you soak in is, good things take time. What ever you're working on, if you consistently show up. Stay the course. It will happen. Action and everyone buying into whats needed is key!
